Jonathan Hammond of Hammond Harwood (www.hammondharwood.co.uk) in Bingham, Nottingham, has released his latest annual quiz. It’s completely free to enter, with prizes that include signed football shirts, shopping vouchers, wine and restaurant meals, but there’s an optional £1 donation to ChildLine.

The new quiz is on TV programmes but you do not need to be a television or soap addict to answer any of the questions. It’s a quiz with a difference as all the answers are on the last page, and all you have to do is work out which answer goes with which question.

This is Hammond Harwood’s ninth annual quiz, which last year attracted over 500 entries and raised £330 for charity. Deadline for this year’s quiz is the second week of next year.

End of beginning as downturn slows slightly
The seasonally-adjusted CIPS/Markit Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 42.9 in April from 39.1 the previous month, but was lower than last year’s figure of 49.7. Despite remaining below the neutral 50.0 mark (a figure less than 50 indicates a contraction) for the 13th month running, the PMI moved further from February’s joint survey record low.
