Recruitment honours ring changes
Wednesday 24th March 2010By Mike Jones
Entries for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s Recruitment Marketing Awards are now open.
Now in their 30th year, this landmark is being celebrated by the launch of a new category – Agency of the Year – to be presented to the agency that demonstrates good practice by meeting all client requirements.
The CIPD also celebrates the 30th year of the awards by working in association with People Management, as well as a new headline sponsor, exec-appointments.com (part of Financial Times Recruitment Solutions).
The event itself, taking place on Wednesday 7 July, will be hosted at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, London.
There are 14 categories in total, including Campaign of the Year, Best Graduate Recruitment and Best Recruitment Website – as well as the Grand Prix Award.
Natalie White, head of corporate marketing, CIPD, said: "This year we’re introducing an industry first – Agency of the Year – to truly recognise best practice in recruitment marketing. We’ve also re-focused the awards, ensuring a continued recognition of excellence in recruitment marketing through creativity and business effectiveness."

End of beginning as downturn slows slightly
The seasonally-adjusted CIPS/Markit Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 42.9 in April from 39.1 the previous month, but was lower than last year’s figure of 49.7. Despite remaining below the neutral 50.0 mark (a figure less than 50 indicates a contraction) for the 13th month running, the PMI moved further from February’s joint survey record low.
